Body Interior PVT Engineer- ONSITE

Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) Engineer is a member of Product Development organization, along with the Operations team. The Interior PVT Engineer has several responsibilities associated with analyzing and improving the Quality of the vehicles built in Chicago.

·         Review incoming warranty claims data on a daily basis, review customer and dealership comments, bin claims into proper binning categories, contact dealership/s for parts and repair diagnoses, participate in customer call back to ensure proper understanding of customer feedback

·         Review returned parts for root cause analyses and develop Interim Containment and Permanent Corrective Actions

·         Support assembly plant with Stop Ships/Stop Builds, Campaigns, Audits, Root Cause Analyses and other Quality related tasks

·         Lead engineering commodity changes for future minor product launches and lead cost reduction actions in current production vehicles.

·         Support Variability Reduction Team (VRT) for specific sub-systems and work closely with Supplier partners to address quality concerns

·         Lead engineering trials and the implementation of running changes for the sub-system

·         Issue engineering Alerts and initiate and/or pursue authorization of engineering Concerns for product changes to support Quality objectives

·         Engage technical experts and functional team members for driving resolution and in developing corrective actions to improve product Quality

·         Maintain sub-system or Vehicle Functional Group (VFG) level Quality documents (SAQ, Top 20 concerns)

·         Make presentations to various levels of upper management (weekly VRT report out, Vehicle Quality Reviews, Engineering Managers reviews)

·         Please note this position is in Body Interior Variability Reduction Team (VRT). Body Interior/Exterior experience is preferred.

·         Engineering Problem Solving, 6-sigma tools, statistics

Skills Preferred:

·         Body Interior experience (Seating, IP, Trim)

Experience Required:

·         2-5 years

Education Required:

·         Bachelor in Engineering
