Position Overview:
The Engineer Supervisor is responsible for providing technical and administrative assistance to the Chief Engineer and provide leadership in all operational aspects of the Engineering Department.
Job Duties:
- Adhere to property guidelines to ensure the health, safety and comfort of our team members and guests.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and comply with deadlines for work assignments.
- Utilize Proper Protective Equipment (PPE) as required and in accordance with property specific guidelines.
- Respond and attend to guest repair requests. Adhere to quality expectations and standards, approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
- Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
- Understands and practices all lock out-tag out procedures in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Reports all safety and security concerns to the Chief Engineer or the Manager on Duty immediately.
- Ensures all key inventories are secure.
- Responds to all emergency situations prepared to assist.
- Participates in ongoing maintenance programs for event space, public space, and kitchens.
- Perform preventive maintenance on guest rooms, public areas, tools, and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
- Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
- Performing preventative maintenance, to maintain the upkeep of the property, both inside and outside, as scheduled by Chief Engineer.
- Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and shut-offs for buildings.
- Display solid knowledge in the following categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, patching walls, painting, wall vinyl replacement, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, energy conservation, and/or general building management.
- Display solid knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials required to perform repair and maintenance tasks. Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, and properly store flammable materials.
- Troubleshoot and perform repairs on equipment and components commonly found within the property.
- Ensure that the hotel is in compliance with all local, state and federal laws.
- Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
- Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
Position Requirements:
- Ability to interpret manufacturer's literature for installation, preparation, use and upkeep of various materials and products used throughout the property.
- Knowledge of proper chemical handling and disposal.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and comply with deadlines for work assignments.
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, stoop, twist, push, pull, and use power and hand tools.
- The employee must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift to 75 pounds.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules (including Holidays and weekends) to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
Required Qualifications:
- High School or equivalent; 3 years’ experience in engineering and maintenance or related professional area, hospitality preferred.
Wage Rate: $32.14 per hour
