The Company's North American operations are located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Plymouth, Indiana, where we produce fruit and dairy preparations for a variety of customers including yogurt, ice cream and bakery manufacturers.
We are looking for a Project Engineer to take a leadership position on identifying, scoping, and executing projects, within and beyond our capital plan, that will improve our manufacturing performance. Responsibilities will include working cross functionally and across sites (NA and Europe) to deliver projects on time and in budget. Project Engineers have a key role ensuring the delivery of prioritized projects and deliver the overall capital spending forecast and budget. Project Engineers are expected to own the project scope and minimize / manage scope creep. With the goal of delivering projects that successfully meet the originally aligned upon scope.

Primary Responsibilities: Primary responsibility is effective project management of prioritized projects, from concept to start-up. Including, managing project plans, schedule / budget adherence. Leading execution across the cross-functional teams.
Develop a strong technical understanding of Zentis manufacturing capabilities, processes, controls, recipes, and packaging; in order to contribute to advancing our efficiencies across the execution of all projects. Our goal is to always remove complexity and simplify operations.
Improve manufacturing process capability and production capacity while maintaining and improving quality standards. Develop and implement systems that optimize all phases of manufacturing processes.
Project Leader to improve quality and efficiency of manufacturing process.
Successful candidate must demonstrate strong leadership in defining and solidifying project scopes. Including: Enter all stakeholder departments’ inputs. Driving the scope phase to conclusion in a timely manner and ensure that the final scope achieves the goals of the initial goals, which includes avoiding / managing scope expansion.
Provide engineering and/or technical support for all factory floor systems, to include working with maintenance department to help troubleshoot and resolve known issues (including but not limited to PLC control system). Participate or lead in validation and commissioning of new and modified equipment.
Develop, implement, and document novel and creative solutions to complex problems with various system dynamics. Provide input, when necessary, on Food Safety, GMP and HACCP.

Formal Education Required: BS in Food Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering or science discipline.

Specific Experience and Key Knowledge Requirements: 1 to 3 years’ experience in managing engineering.
1 to 3 years’ experience in capital expense projects.
1 to 7 years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment.

Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, SAP, and other software systems.
Knowledge and /or specialized training in HACCP, GMPs and SQF.
Knowledge of Aseptic (HTST) Processing Systems and requirements.
Knowledge of HMI, SCADA, and data archiving systems.Knowledge of troubleshooting Ladder Logic Programming or PLC control programming.
