Engineering Manager

Newly created position offered in response to our growing technical needs and planned capital projects. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Since 1969, Custom Alloy Sales, Inc., formally known as “Custom Alloy Light Metals,” has supplied North America’s die casting and foundry industries with quality aluminum and zinc alloys, building the only combined recycled aluminum smelter and zinc / za alloy supplier on the West Coast. As the Western U.S.’s only 100% specialized ingot producer, we’re committed to providing all alloys to our customers – on time, every time.

Role

· Primary responsibility will be in developing and managing a newly formed engineering department including 2-3 direct reports. This is a “hands-on” position

· Project Management – Lead the planning and execution of major plant projects

· Completion of an intensive 90-day training period that will include hands-on exposure to all plant processes, systems and equipment; involves occasional night and weekend work during this period

· Lead and facilitate plant improvement projects – Cost saving and efficiency improvement

· Utilize existing process data for analysis and improvement

· Position reports directly to the Plant Manager

Minimum Qualifications

· 5+ Years of supervisory experience in an industrial environment

· Proficiency in MS Project and similar project management tools

· 3D CAD/CAE proficiency utilizing a variety of software packages

· Ability and willingness to spend 10-20% of the time in conditions that include heat, noise, dust

· BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or similar

Desired Qualifications

· Experience in the metals, glass, cement or similar process industries

· Ability to speak/read/write in Spanish a plus

· Experience utilizing Lean Manufacturing Concepts & Toyota Production Process

· Metallurgical training a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
