JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Clinical Engineering Manager provides leadership of clinical operations for facilities within the assigned area. Assist the Clinical Engineering Director with the development and execution of in-house Clinical Engineering strategies, a comprehensive preventive maintenance and repair program, budget processes, and medical equipment reporting process. This position provides input on the distribution of resources (staffing, budgets, and outside vendor services) of the Medical Equipment Management Program. Serves as an active participant in support activities related to problem diagnosis, repair, preventive maintenance, and quality assurance of medical equipment. Contributes to the development, implementation, and completion of annual goals and objectives supporting medical equipment service support.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Biomedical/Clinical Engineering. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution.
  • -Or-
  • Demonstrated equivalent work experience in Clinical Engineering (Healthcare Technology Management) including demonstrated experience in a supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated experience creating or participating in the development of an in-house medical equipment service program.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a budget and tracking the financial performance of a medical equipment management program.
  • Demonstrated working understanding of all the key functions needed to create and manage a health care medical equipment maintenance and management service program.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills with the ability to present ideas and initiatives to cross-functional groups.
  • Demonstrated detail oriented, sound decision making ability, and a diplomatic demeanor.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five years of managerial experience in the Clinical Engineering / HTM service industry.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
  • Frequent interactions with customers that require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
  • For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
