NeuWave Medical Inc , a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for an Engineering Manager to join the NeuWave Operations team in Madison, WI!
NeuWave, part of Johnson & Johnson MedTech, has made significant contributions to the field of microwave ablation for over 10 years. The team has developed and released US market-leading thermal ablation devices, offering comprehensive solutions that allow physicians to ablate lesions of many shapes and sizes with predictability and precision.
The Engineering Manager will provide leadership, direction, and development for a team of manufacturing, lifecycle, and new product introduction engineers to resolve manufacturing technical issues, deliver on sustaining and design transfer (NPI) projects, and support the strategic vision of the NeuWave Medical business. The engineering team supports both capital products and single patient use disposable products at the Madison, WI and Juarez, Mexico facilities. The leader must work closely with various NeuWave departments to understand technical needs and prioritize the teams support to accomplish projects when needed by the business. Additionally, the manager must continually develop the technical competence of the team to prepare the organization for future success.
Job Duties:
- Leads overall operations related engineering activities to meet NeuWave business unit goals and objectives.
- Leads team in investigation of manufacturing non-conformances, EHS&S incidents, supplier related process improvements, and other process and equipment issues.
- Supports team in delivery of high-complexity engineering projects (process validations, capital projects, CAPA, NPI, etc.) on time and within budget.
- Coaches team in development of technical performance metrics and dashboards (yield, process capability, cycle time, OEE, etc.) for assigned manufacturing processes.
- Monitors and reports on team progress toward goals.
- Collaborates with other franchise functions (Manufacturing, Research & Development, Quality, EHS&S) to define and prioritize engineering project portfolio.
- Promotes culture of innovation and continuous improvement to reduce manufacturing costs, increase production efficiency, and improve process capability.
- Reviews and approves validation documentation (IQ/OQ/PQ).
- Cultivates growth and development of team members.
- Ensures that team members follow all regulatory and company guidelines related to Quality, Compliance, EHS&S, and Financial reporting.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field is required. Advanced degree (M.S. or M.B.A.) is preferable.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in a business or technical role is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of people leadership experience is required.
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, etc.) is preferred.
- Proficiency in project management is strongly preferred. Project management certification such as PMP or FPX is helpful.
- Knowledge of problem solving methodologies (Six Sigma, RCPS, Kepner Tregoe, PCDA, etc.) is strongly preferred. Six Sigma certification is a plus.
- This role may require up to 25% travel.
