Cabot Citrus Farms

Cabot’s first U.S. destination, Cabot Citrus Farms, is situated on 1,200 acres of rolling land and will include Cabot’s signature combination of world-class golf, luxury accommodations and real estate opportunities. Opening in 2023, Cabot Citrus Farms will feature two revitalized 18-hole courses, a par-3 course, a new clubhouse and extensive practice facilities. The property is a short 50-minute drive from Tampa and an 80-minute drive from Orlando. While close to urban amenities, the property sits in the central-west region of Florida aptly known as the Nature Coast. Visitors will delight in one-of-a-kind experiences including exceptional hiking, biking and nature trails at neighboring Withlacoochee State Forest, spring- fed rivers and bountiful lakes at Crystal River, and world-class fishing in the Gulf of Mexico.

Position Overview

As the Engineering Manager, you are a key member of the Cabot Citrus Farms team and will be instrumental in building on Cabot’s legacy of world-leading golf destinations. You will be tasked with overseeing the overall function of the property, maintaining operation and functionality throughout. Your knowledge of high-end resort facilities and engineering – combined with your attentiveness, efficiency, and commitment – will ensure that Cabot Citrus Farms remains a safe, clean, presentable, and enjoyable workplace and travel destination for our team-members, partners, and guests. You will maintain a daily presence on-site and build strong relationships with team-members, community stakeholders, guests, and prospective real estate buyers. You embody Cabot’s values and positively represent the Cabot brand, helping to set team expectations for the resort’s high standard and act as an ambassador and role model of exceptional service.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and rectify any general maintenance issues within the property
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team
  • Provide effective leadership, giving direction to individual department staff, motivating and supporting them to achieve Cabot’s vision and objectives
  • Plan for professional development and training activities for subordinates
  • Manage departmental employment activities including recruitment and selection, training, development, retention, and performance management, etc.
  • Participate in annual budgetary process to optimize financial performance
  • Research and improve methods to operate projects under current market conditions
  • Plan preventative maintenance schedules and other breakdown management and fault reporting systems on all building equipment and monitoring of mechanical HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical and building structural elements
  • Prioritize work in order to meet the operational needs of the property
  • Coordinate repair work, contractor access and work inspections
  • Train departmental staff in all emergency procedures and general crisis situation management
  • Follow up with guest complaint issues to ensure highest level of guest satisfaction
  • Participate on Safety Committees
  • Oversee all operational policies, procedures, controls, and fee structures to ensure the safekeeping of assets, inventory and resources
  • Model Cabot’s culture and exemplify our shared values on a day-to-day basis
  • Conduct regular team meetings to ensure two-way communication in maintained
  • Ensure a safe work environment is maintained at all times with a commitment to working safely
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a management or supervisory role
  • Experience in carpentry, plumbing, heating, electrical, HVAC, electronic diagnostics, water treatment
  • Must be detail oriented and able to prioritize, communicate effectively, and multi-task
  • Certified Pool Operator or experience with aquatic engineering, a huge plus
  • Be flexible with work schedule and be available to work weekends/evenings as required
  • High school or equivalent education required – University degree or College diploma, an asset
  • Proven ability to successfully lead and motivate colleagues
  • Proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Springer-Miller Host, Yellow Dog inventory system, etc.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast- paced work environment.
  • Must be self-directed, motivated, and demonstrate exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and openly in all interactions (verbal and written).
  • Ability to exercise sound logic and judgment in evaluating situations and utilizing appropriate resources.
  • Strong conflict resolution/management and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage labor effectively.
  • Effective training and facilitation abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with maximum accuracy, efficiency and a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous always.
  • Florida Driver’s License or ability to obtain one.
  • Work flexible hours – weekends, evenings and overtime as required
  • Excels in a team environment

Physical Demands

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 80+ lbs
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
  • Working in an outdoor environment (i.e.: sun, wind, rain)
  • Ascending and descending stairs and ramps
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for long periods of time- up to 5 hours at a time.
  • Required to sit and stoop, kneel or crouch, as well as stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
  • Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms, repetitive motions.
  • Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment, tools, products, and supplies
