Deceuninck North America is seeking an Engineering Intern(s) (Summer 2024) for its Monroe, OH facility. In this role, the Engineering Intern will participate in projects to evaluate and improve Deceuninck’s processes through application of continuous improvement methods, such as Kaizen techniques, 5S, process/value stream mapping, digital technology, data analysis, standard work studies, setup reductions, and Lean/Six Sigma tools. Follows the structure of the Deceuninck Project Management, Safety, Continuous Improvement and Quality Systems throughout project execution. Core Responsibilities:
- Primary Intern assignment in the Materials Engineering Lab department with exposure to product design & development as well as process engineering functions.
- Lab scale mixing and extrusion equipment for new compound formulations R&D.
- Color matching and development.
- Perform accelerated weathering QUV and Xenon tests.
- Prepare and perform product testing (color, impact, dimensional stability, weld strength, etc.).
- Improve current lab processes and procedures.
- Create informational documents as needed.
- Interface with production, sales, & process engineering to provided technical support as needed.
- Assist in the analysis and troubleshooting of customer’s technical problems.
- Perform all duties in a safe manner according to company safety policies.
Qualifications:
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Continuous Improvement mindset, with strong attention to detail and experience in data analysis.
Education Requirements:
- Pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Materials, Mechanical, or Chemical) at an accredited four-year college or university.
