Main Duties & Responsibilities
Position Summary:
TriMas Packaging is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Engineering Intern for our Summer 2024 internship program. This is a paid internship, with an anticipated duration from June to August 2024 (Flexible). The successful candidate will directly report to the research and development manager onsite.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Intern will conduct physical property testing and analysis related to R&D activities and NPD projects.
- The Intern will support all project work that is related to the development of new products, films, fitments, and general R&D activities including evacuation studies, sample bag making, comparative testing of in-house and competitive products and analytical analysis.
- The Intern will document and file all data, results, reports, any relevant information that is related to R&D and NPD activities in a professional manner consistent with our data capture methodology.
- The Intern will on occasion support the technical aspects of compliant handling and complaint reporting.
- The Intern will perform data entry reliably and completely.
- Ensure strict protocol is followed for all test methods and quality checks. Also, apply statistical analysis when required to
- support the data collected and conclusions drawn.
- The Intern may also be involved in product design, prototyping and product validation as needed.
- Intern to be trained in all in house testing methods and procedures.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program, preferably in mechanical, chemical, electrical, packaging, industrial, environmental, biomechanical, biochemical, or nuclear engineering.
- Intern will preferably be a junior or senior status, freshman and sophomores will still be considered.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically Microsoft Excel.
- Detail oriented and analytical mindset
- 3.0 GPA or higher preferred.
