Job Description
This position will apply gained classroom education to practical application within an engineering department servicing a diverse disciplined manufacturing operation. It will also gain beneficial experience in a collaborative and diverse environment through the participation in various cross functional projects and tasks.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in the day-to-day support of engineering operations various engineering areas
- Learn and understand the engineering operations
- Learn and produce data structures in the Product Data Management system
- Collaborate and drive work with external design resources
- Understand, define, and implement Bill of Material structures
- Assist in producing and modifying of 3D models for product enhancement
- Assist in product validation testing and reporting
- Assist in testing of other engineering tool enhancements in systems such as the Enterprise Resource Planning and Configure Price Quote systems
- Interface with other disciplines such as operations management, quality assurance, manufacturing engineering, purchasing, planning, customer service, and/or production teammates
Qualifications and Required Skills:
- Working towards an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
- Previous internship or work related experience is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organization and planning skills
- Experience in CAD systems; with SolidWorks knowledge a plus
- Proficient in the use of Access, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint are a must
- Outstanding Problem-Solving skills are also required
