The Role
Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing. Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.
This Engineer position will report within of the A1B Propulsion Plant Planning Yard which provides propulsion plant design and life-cycle engineering services for new construction and commissioned ships. This position will work on a broad variety of projects which develop, author, implement and improve various interdisciplinary engineering products, processes, and procedures to support needs of customers both internal and external to Newport News Shipbuilding.
Must Have
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant exempt experience;
Master's Degree and 0 year of relevant professional experience
Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

The successful candidate will be able to plan, organize and lead multiple projects, recommend approaches, identify resources, develop timelines, prioritize work to meet cost schedule and quality objectives, report on project status, and deliver quality products.
