The Family:
This organized, tidy, and loving family is looking for an engaging and wonderful nanny to partner with! Their daughter will be attending St Philomena Catholic School, and their son will go to the Seabury School in Tacoma this year. The position will include light housekeeping during the school day, and more childcare will be required for days when they are out of school.
They have two children ages 6 and 8. The boy has ADHD which he mostly struggles with at school. A nanny with an Early Childhood Education, Behavior Therapy, or Paraprofessional background would be really ideal for them, but they are considering nannies of all backgrounds. Their 8 year old girl is very independent and helpful, and is entering second grade. She loves playing outside, Harry Potter, and is on her way to becoming a Swiftie.
Both parents work from home in office spaces separate from the main living areas during the day. There are no pets in the home.
The family has a beach cabin on the peninsula just past Gig Harbor. They love spending more time there during the summers and on long weekends, and they would love it if their nanny was comfortable going between the two homes to provide care at times.
The Job Description:
The family will be doing school drop off in the mornings. For childcare duties, the nanny will be responsible for school pick up, snacks, homework help, bathing assistance, and providing an engaging and warm environment for the kids. The family is still landing the school plan for their son and hopes to partner with a nanny who is open to attending school with their son in the mornings to help him stay on track and focus on tasks if needed.
In addition to general care, the nanny will also be responsible for around several hours of household work per day, including:
- Helping to pack nutritious lunches for the following day
- Family dinner prep
- Dishes and clean up after meals
- Children’s laundry and sheets
- Weekly grocery shopping
- Wash/prep fruit and produce
- Helping to keep the children’s play areas and rooms tidied and organized
- Sweeping/mopping floors as needed (the family also has weekly cleaners so housework should remain light).
- Daily tidying of any spaces used throughout the day
Nanny Attributes/Qualifications/Requirements:
The family would like to partner with a cheerful, engaging nanny who has at least three years of similar aged child care experience. This would ideally be someone with experience in early childhood education, as a behavior therapist, or a paraprofessional who is organized and happy to help around the house when kids are in school.
The nanny should hold a valid driver’s license, have a clean driving record, and a safe and reliable vehicle for driving on the job. They should also be current with all vaccinations including Covid + booster, and be current with their CPR/First Aid Certification (or be willing to update).
