Job description

Increase sales and profitability through implementation of sales, marketing, and consulting processes for products and services provided by Heartland Co-op. Meeting and communicating with growers to sell the full range of petroleum products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Calls on producers, explains programs and markets to promote purchases of petroleum products and services, including but not limited to, refined fuels, propane, lubricants, risk management tools, and tank monitoring systems.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and a friendly atmosphere.
  • Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales and purchase contracts for orders obtained.
  • Qualify customer creditworthiness and administer Heartland Co-op's credit policy as prescribed by Heartland Co-op's Credit Department.
  • Promote and present customer meetings.
  • Monitor activity on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT).
  • Monitor area basis levels.
  • Monitor competitiveness for refined fuels, propane, lubricants, and related services.
  • Maintain Customer Relationship Management (CRM) within Heartland Co-op's reporting program.
  • Communicate regularly with operations and other sales staff.
  • Assists in the development of and communication of petroleum policies and

  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and commercial insurability at all times.
