As an Engineering Technician on the Systems Integration team with Tesla Energy, you will own the installation of test equipment, including Residential & Industrial Energy storage products in an R&D setting. The job involves a variety of electrical disciplines and a strong candidate will be able to execute on many different scopes of work.
What You’ll Do- Installs Residential and Industrial products and test equipment up to 480VAC / 1000V DC
- Build one off test equipment consisting of aluminum framing, HV bussing, contactors, and other related items
- Build server racks consisting of both HV and LV complex wiring, rack mounted computers, DIN rail power supplies, and other related items
- Installs and maintains electrical panels, power distribution and electrical drops
- Works closely with engineering, facilities and technicians to install equipment in a fast-paced work environment
- Builds infrastructure using channel strut, conduit, overhead wire trays and electrical enclosures
- Consults manuals, reading and interpreting diagrams, blueprints, and schematics
- Performs a wide variety of job scopes including power supplies, transformers, solar panels, etc.
- Displays positive attitudes and practices good work ethics that reflects the mission, philosophy, and goals of the company
- Must have a minimum of 2+ years of lab environment and electrical experience in industrial, commercial and/or residential setting
- Efficient in sizing conductors, conduits and using NEC Code Book
- Ability to produce parts lists and work plans based off drawings or lab walks
- Ability to install electrical equipment and circuit modification
- Experienced in handling low to high voltage up to 480 VAC
- Experience working with Solar up to 1000VDC is a plus
- Strong working knowledge of job site safety with the ability to thoroughly evaluate job hazards and complete pre-work task planning with an emphasis on identifying electrical hazards and proper safety procedures
- Ability to interpret electrical prints and schematics
- Ability to produce as-built drawing for work performed
- Knowledge in using hand tools, electrical meter, and testing equipment

$24.40 - $65.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
