Role Description
Form Energy is hiring a Test Engineer to join the Test Development team to specifically own the testing of our electrical components. In this position, you will design, develop, and implement test strategies to ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of our energy storage products. You will leverage your strong background in electrical component-level reliability testing, and functional testing of electronics in order to succeed in this position. What you'll do:
Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies for component, subsystem and system-level testing, including electrical and mechanical stress testing, for energy storage system components.
Troubleshoot electrical issues in a range of test stands for a variety of purposes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop test cases and procedures covering a range of operating conditions and use cases.
Analyze test data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement in product performance and reliability.
Prepare detailed test reports summarizing findings, conclusions, and recommendations for design enhancements or corrective actions.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize testing processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the overall quality of energy storage products.
What you'll bring:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in component-level reliability testing, preferably in the energy storage or related industry.
Interest in a mostly hands-on role where you are setting up new R&D test capabilities and taking data in a lab environment.
Expertise in functional testing of electronic systems, with a focus on identifying and diagnosing performance issues.
Experience using data acquisition hardware and software for test setup and data analysis.
Proficiency in Python programming language for programming and controlling test equipment.
Proven experience converting data into meaningful conclusions and communicating them to a wide audience.
Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams and proactively gathering stakeholder input to projects.
