Summary: The Employment Support Professional I provides direct care to assist persons served in reaching their employment goals. The Employment Support Professional I also supports their peers offering guidance and modeling leadership. This is a full time position and is considered nonexempt under FLSA. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The Employment Support Professional II reports to the Employment Services Coordinator.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (The requirements listed below are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, or responsibilities associated with this job.):

  • Provides supportive and directive encouragement to assist persons served in developing employment skills including but not limited to assisting in job search, community placement, developing/writing/implementing program plans, quality of work, appropriate work interactions, attendance, hygiene, and completing online trainings.
  • Provide JOB COACHing and job development with persons served. This includes but not limited to maintaining contact with persons served and their employer, developing jobs, conducting worksite assessments, and job shadowing.
  • Ensures quality completion of all contracted work within the employment services department.
  • Completes timely and accurate documentation including but not limited to IPP notes, departmental interactions, program writing, service documentation/recording, and other documentation required by other governing bodies or for billing.
  • Maintain a safe environment for persons served/staff and demonstrates safe work practices including, but not limited to: safe transportation of persons served, observing universal precautions, properly transporting goods, monitors the use and storage of cleaning chemicals, familiar with fire, disaster and evacuation plans, and run scheduled drills.
  • Helps prepare meals and provides supervision and coaching with kitchen duties including but not limited to: preparing lunch, following dietary menus, compiling budget and dietary conscious grocery orders, ordering through vendors, delivering and putting away groceries, documentation of food and sanitation temperature in accordance with regulating entities. With a goal of persons served learning restaurant employment skills.
  • Maintains a positive relationship with outside agencies, businesses, and contracted vendors of the employment services department.
  • Obtain Job Coaching Certification.
  • Provides supportive and directive encouragement to assist persons served in developing employment skills including but not limited to assisting in job search, community placement, developing/writing/implementing program plans, quality of work, appropriate work interactions, attendance, hygiene, and completing online trainings.
  • Completes timely and accurate daily documentation required by OU and other governing bodies.
  • Address issues that arise in a manner that adheres to OU’s policies, guidelines, practices, and procedures.
  • Ensure that all organizational, local, state and federal program guideline are being met and followed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Attend required and assigned staff meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain and promote positive relationships with coworkers, persons served, families, vendors, and volunteers.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing assigned tasks outside of home department.
  • Participate on cross- functional teams.
  • Advise appropriate supervisor/manager/director of any issues to ensure efficient operations, and excellent service to all persons served.
  • Perform and complete unplanned duties/activities or other assignments as assigned by management.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to indoor and outdoor conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, stoop, bend, sit, reach, carry, and lift. The noise level in the work environment ranges from mild to loud.


Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to meet all organizational, local, state, and federal licensing and training requirements including but not limited to CPR, First Aid, MANDT, HIPPA, Universal Precautions, and Mandatory Reporting.
  • Must be able to attend periodic staff meetings and trainings after normal work hours and possibly weekends.
  • Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds to provide physical assistance as needed.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft office applications including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be willing to obtain a chauffeurs license/endorsement.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a high school diploma, a GED, or verifiable work experience, and training in a related field.
