Job Title:Employer Engagement Coordinator
Department: Employment
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Supervisor: Senior Programs Manager
Status: Full-Time; non-exempt
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Employer Engagement Coordinator is responsible for strengthening Employer Engagement in the integration and self-sufficiency of refugees and other eligible populations within the community. This role is intended to focus on assisting eligible clients to connect with potential employers and aid in assisting them in career and skill advancement. The coordinator will work closely with the Senior Programs Manager in facilitating and maintaining employer partnerships for the Employer Engagement Program (EEP) by entering a formal partnership with employers, engage employers in the process of helping refugee participants integrate and attain self-sufficiency, and create networks of employers that offer work-based ELL (English Language Learner) and job skills training. The coordinator will assist the Senior Programs Manager to provide effective partnership between New AP and local employers and will assist with the development and implementation of the EEP. The coordinator will ensure all the services provided to clients are in accordance with federal regulations and guidelines for the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), Employer Engagement Program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop a strategic plan to identify, recruit and maintain up to five new formal employer partnerships per year to participate in New AP’s Employer Engagement Program
  • Create educational materials for employer partner recruitment regarding refugee employment to drive outreach to external partners
  • Coordinate all aspects of Employer Engagement including MOA or partnership agreement execution, program startup at each location and technical assistance as needed.
  • Coordinate annual planning session each year to assess the program’s progress from the employer perspective, plan outreach efforts and guide programmatic growth
  • Collaborate with new partners to understand specific workforce needs and assist in the development of customized training plans for EEP participants
  • Liaise between employment team, curriculum specialist, participant coordinator and employer partners to assist with development of curriculum for EEP client participants
  • Identify any needed adjustments or modifications based on employers’ input and feedback regarding training materials and client participation
  • Identify opportunities for certification programs that align with the employer needs and assist refugee participants in obtaining relevant certifications.
  • Participate in advocacy efforts with New AP partners to increase awareness of refugee employment barriers and foster support for refugee employment and education initiatives
  • Arrange venues and schedules for training/meeting with employers and employees at the worksite.
  • Assist in facilitating work-based training courses with employers to ensure it meets the needs of employers and employees/clients.
  • Maintain accurate employers’ files, note logs, program databases, and other required documents to maintain grant compliance.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting required reports to ORR.
  • Assist in monitoring program progress and overall program performance and review the program function to ensure that adequate progress is made towards achieving programmatic goals.
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
  • A personal passion to assist refugees with achieving their career goals by fostering Employer Engagement and investment in the professional development of refugee employees.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with employers and refugee clients.
  • Have knowledge in at least one of the following areas preferred: career development, Employer Engagement, and employment.
  • Familiarity with refugee resettlement and employment services is a plus.
  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity.
  • Highly organized with knowledge of database and data management.
  • Knowledge of basic training design, ESL, job skills training programs and proven presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage, monitor, and report a high volume of detailed and confidential information.
  • Strong attention to detail in evaluating the completion of various phases of the program.
  • Ability to clearly communicate, expressing requirements and expectations to a wide range of individuals.
  • Organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize, and flexibility.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential.
  • Experience working as part of a team in a diverse and multicultural environment.
  • Basic computer skills, especially email, spreadsheets, and presentation creation software.
COMPENSATION:
This is a full-time, Hourly position with a rate of $19.32- $20.19 per hour (40,000 $42,000 annually). Employer contributes to medical, dental and vision insurance. Employer pays life and disability insurance. 15 paid holidays and a generous paid time off policy. Employee has the option to contribute to 401(k).
