PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Employee Relations Manager is responsible for building, facilitating, and supporting Employee Relations, engagement, and communications within the company.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Serves as the primary contact for human resources and benefits administration.
Oversees the employment process with job descriptions, job postings, screening, and referral of qualified candidates through Success Factors.
Perform onboarding and off-boarding functions to incoming and outgoing FS Grain employees.
Administers the compensation program, including increases, commissions, bonus payments and annual review process.
Conducts annual open enrollment webinars and/or employee meetings to communicate benefit changes.
Performs benefit administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefit information to employees.
Processes and monitors workman's compensation, disability claims and leave requests.
Conducts recruitment effort for exempt and nonexempt personnel and seasonal employees.
Handles Employee Relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
Provides advice and coaching to supervisors regarding workplace and employee issues.
Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from HR system.
Initiates the process to record employee changes such as pay, job transfers, new hires and terminations.
Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefit laws and regulations.
Oversees driver DOT files, including physicals, MVR's, drug testing, random drug testing program, and training.
Coordinate and administer FS Grain uniform/clothing policies.
Coordinate annual review/revision of FS Grain Employee Handbook.
Identify training needs with fellow managers and provide training opportunities already established through various organizations or work with General Manager/GROWMARK to create new content to meet the needs.
Maintain compliant FS Grain employee files with complete confidentiality.
Promote FS GRAIN's safety culture by following all safety policies and procedures.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsible for being an overall advocate for the culture set forth by upper management of FS Grain.
Performs related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Normally requires a bachelor's degree in business administration and/or experience in a related agricultural field.
Proven ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Ability to work with confidential employee related information.
Proficiency in computer skills, including the Microsoft Office product suite.
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and have the ability to travel independently and overnight when necessary.
Ability to work extended hours and on-call as business conditions warrant.
Occasionally exposed or required to:
- Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.)
- Noisy conditions
- Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures
