Job Description
The position of Senior Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical engineer) is responsible for the oversight, input and design of low voltage switchgear, switchboard, panel board CRD's (contract req'rmnts doc's) and fabrication drawings.
Qualifications:
- This position requires a BSEE or BSME
- 3-5 years of product development experience in a manufacturing environment for electrical enclosures
- Working knowledge of UL 891 is required, UL 67 is considered a plus
- The ideal candidate has experience in one of the following product segments:
- Power, energy, defense, industrial automation and/or control industries
- Prior experience in Vow Voltage Switchboard design is a plus
- Strong organizational and time management skills with emphasis on handling details
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with Autodesk, SolidWorks or equivalent software
- Strong verbal presentation, writing and computer application skills
- Emphasis on analytical and financial calculations
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Provide design direction for customer review drawings to meet consumer needs and manufacturing demands
- Gives guidance to engineering team on 3D models for assembly in the onsite manufacturing shop
- Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications to help define the best product solution for the customer
- Actively contributes to product design as a member of the technical team on product development projects
- Provides technical support for inside sales and outside sales
- Efficient and timely translation of customer needs into viable marketable solutions
- Regular adherence to procedures in the Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Continuous assessment of opportunities for improvement and any changes needed to management systems
