SalaryCheyenne Classical Academy is seeking highly qualified candidates to teach grades K-4 for the 2024-25 school year.
Cheyenne Classical Academy is a tuition-free, public charter school, located at 5200 Ridge Road, Cheyenne, WY, 82009. CCA will open in the Fall of 2024, starting with grades K-4, two sections of students per grade. With time and demand, CCA is scheduled to grow, one grade level per year, through Grade 12.
Our Mission
The mission of Cheyenne Classical Academy is: “To train the minds and improve the hearts of young people through a classical, content-rich education in the liberal arts and sciences, with instruction in the principles of moral character and civic virtue in an orderly and disciplined environment that emphasizes virtuous living, traditional learning and civic responsibility.”
Current Instructional Openings: Grammar School
The Grammar School (K-4th Grades, Music, Art, Phys. Edu. current openings & future 5th & 6th Grade) curriculum focuses on a solid language arts core, comprised of reading/phonogram instruction, handwriting, and grammar, as well as Singapore math, science, both U.S. & world history, and a rich, literature curriculum. The classrooms will be traditionally structured, and teachers provide direct instruction.
Our future Upper School (7th-12th Grade) curriculum instruction focuses on clear and effective written and oral communication. Students read and discuss whole books, study primary sources, prove geometric theorems, and engage in deep scientific investigations. To graduate, all seniors must write a senior thesis and deliver and defend it orally in front of fellow students, members of the faculty, and administration.
Teacher Qualifications
Teachers are hired based upon their moral and intellectual seriousness and dedication to the craft of teaching. All teachers must be “highly qualified,” or able to pursue this qualification via the proper certification for Wyoming teachers as required. Applicants for starting 2024 positions in the Grammar School (Kindergarten-4th & including Music, Art & Physical Education & Special Education) are encouraged to have a broad liberal arts background. Applicants for positions in future grades (starting at 7th- 12th Grade), should have a passion for the academic specialty in the subject to be taught.
All teachers at Cheyenne Classical Academy are responsible for the intellectual and moral atmosphere of the school. As such, candidates should:

- use precise, edifying, and moderate speech
- contribute to a collegial faculty across the various grade levels
