QUALIFICATIONS:
- Eligibility for Wyoming teacher certification through the State Department of Education with endorsement in assigned teaching and extra-duty areas.
- Possess a broad general knowledge of all subject areas with specific knowledge in contract areas.
- Possess knowledge of physiological, psychological, emotional, and educational behavioral development of children.
- Possess group dynamics and interpersonal skills.
- Possess classroom developmentally appropriate management skills, which include discipline as well as record keeping and assessment abilities.
- Possess technological and assessment abilities.
- Possess problem solving, imagination, patience, reasoning, creativity, judgment, and analytical abilities.
- Such additions to the above qualification as the Board and administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

JOB GOAL:

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Appreciates the worth and dignity of each individual and treats each one with respect and tolerance.
- Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the location and at the times designated.
- Develops and maintains a classroom environment that is conducive to effective learning and is appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
- Prepares for assigned classes and shows written evidence of preparation.
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of instructional expectations as adopted by the District.
- Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicates these desired outcomes to students.
- Maintains high standards of appropriate classroom behavior.
- Employs a variety of instructional techniques, media and technology consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or students involved.
- Assesses the accomplishments of individual students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
- Maintains appropriate confidentiality when entrusted with personal information pertaining to students or staff members.
- Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulations.
- Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for education related purposes outside the instructional day as required or when requested to do so under reasonable terms.
- Attends staff meetings and contributes to the success of staff committees as required.
- Notifies administrative personnel when it is necessary to leave assigned building during the regular school day.
- Cooperates with other staff members in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
- Assists in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
- Accepts a share of responsibility for co-curricular activities as assigned.
- Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning the academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students.
- Provides for his/her own professional growth through an on-going program of reading, workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or advanced coursework at institutions of higher learning.
- Responsible for maintaining certification and endorsement in all areas of certification and endorsement, including endorsement for extra-duty positions, as reflected on teaching certificate.
- Knowledge of and being prepared to act in accordance to district and school emergency procedures.
- Participates in in-service training programs as requested.
- Follows District policies and procedures.
- Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the principal.
