QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Eligibility for Wyoming teacher certification through the State Department of Education with endorsement in assigned teaching and extra-duty areas.
  2. Possess a broad general knowledge of all subject areas with specific knowledge in contract areas.
  3. Possess knowledge of physiological, psychological, emotional, and educational behavioral development of children.
  4. Possess group dynamics and interpersonal skills.
  5. Possess classroom developmentally appropriate management skills, which include discipline as well as record keeping and assessment abilities.
  6. Possess technological and assessment abilities.
  7. Possess problem solving, imagination, patience, reasoning, creativity, judgment, and analytical abilities.
  8. Such additions to the above qualification as the Board and administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

Building Principal
JOB GOAL:
To work toward the expectations established by the Board of Trustees which will help students toward achievement of their potential academically, emotionally, physically, and socially.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Appreciates the worth and dignity of each individual and treats each one with respect and tolerance.
  2. Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
  3. Meets and instructs assigned classes in the location and at the times designated.
  4. Develops and maintains a classroom environment that is conducive to effective learning and is appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
  5. Prepares for assigned classes and shows written evidence of preparation.
  6. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of instructional expectations as adopted by the District.
  7. Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicates these desired outcomes to students.
  8. Maintains high standards of appropriate classroom behavior.
  9. Employs a variety of instructional techniques, media and technology consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or students involved.
  10. Assesses the accomplishments of individual students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
  11. Maintains appropriate confidentiality when entrusted with personal information pertaining to students or staff members.
  12. Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  13. Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulations.
  14. Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for education related purposes outside the instructional day as required or when requested to do so under reasonable terms.
  15. Attends staff meetings and contributes to the success of staff committees as required.
  16. Notifies administrative personnel when it is necessary to leave assigned building during the regular school day.
  17. Cooperates with other staff members in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
  18. Assists in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
  19. Accepts a share of responsibility for co-curricular activities as assigned.
  20. Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning the academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students.
  21. Provides for his/her own professional growth through an on-going program of reading, workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or advanced coursework at institutions of higher learning.
  22. Responsible for maintaining certification and endorsement in all areas of certification and endorsement, including endorsement for extra-duty positions, as reflected on teaching certificate.
  23. Knowledge of and being prepared to act in accordance to district and school emergency procedures.
  24. Participates in in-service training programs as requested.
  25. Follows District policies and procedures.
  26. Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the principal.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and length of contract determined by the Board of Trustees. Benefits are awarded as outlined in policy.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Building Principal.
