Elementary School Head SecretaryOrchard View Elementary Reports To: Building Principal Pay Grade: Grade 5, step 1 - starting at $18.32 per hour Schedule: 8 hours per day / 40 hours per week / 42-week position Job Summary: To contribute to the efficient operation of the school and to create and maintain good public relations with students, parents, community and staff by providing administrative support. Also function as liaison between building staff and principal. Preferred Qualifications: Associates or Bachelor's degreeExcellent organizational and customer service skillsPrevious secretarial experienceKnowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointKnowledge of Google Suite productsKnowledge of PowerSchool products Essential Job Functions: Efficient and effective oral and written communication skillsUtilize technology to efficiently perform dutiesWork independently with little to no supervisionMaintain files, correspondence, and other communication Ability to become CPR certifiedMaintain budget and purchase order recordsGreet and assist students, staff and families as needed in a positive mannerCoordinate general office functions including but not limited to: announcements, telephones, newsletters, calendars, mail distribution, office/classroom/health supplies, etc.Assist with maintenance of inventories, reports, logs, etc.Verify daily teacher and substitute teacher attendance records through the use of the substitute management systemAdminister prescribed medication and first aid to students and maintain accurate logs/inventoryNotify parents of student injuries and prepare incident/accident reportsAssist during parent/teacher conferences as neededSupport building administrators as neededPrepare and maintain appropriate payroll records biweeklyConsistent and reliable attendancePerform other duties as assigned Work Environment:The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Work will be performed primarily indoors but may need to be outdoors infrequently. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, jump, crouch, or crawl, talk, hear (in a quiet or noisy environment). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
