ELEMENTARY FOOD SERVICE COORDINATOR
(Kitchen Manager)
Full-Time 10-Month Position
Starting at $20.00/hour
6:00 a.m.– 2:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
(No nights or weekends)
Position Purpose: The Elementary Food Service Coordinator is responsible for planning and coordinating the daily FOOD SERVICE programs, preparation and service of food. Assists with the preparation and service of food for various ELEMENTARY SCHOOL catering events alongside the Supervisor of Food Service.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma required.
- Minimum of two years of successful experience in food preparation and management.
- Supervisory experience of FOOD SERVICE operations. Ability to coordinate and direct staff.
- Knowledge of operation of all equipment, including safety practices.
- Certified in FOOD SERVICE sanitation.
- Proficiency with computers and various software products.
The person, while performing in this position, will be required to:
- Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, Demonstrate manual dexterity required to operate food preparation equipment.
- Sit, stand and walk, and occasionally required to stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Have specific vision abilities, to include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds without any help.
- Must be able to push food and utility carts and utilize other equipment
- Hold valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and have access to personal transportation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare food for designated ELEMENTARY SCHOOLs and coordination of the daily food preparation and serving of food.
- Order and coordinate ordering of food and supplies for the designated schools.
- Assist in the daily accounting of funds.
- Maintains and supervises the completion of daily production records for the designated ELEMENTARY SCHOOLs.
- Checks food shipments into school, signing invoices only after each order has been verified.
- Maintains inventory.
- Assumes responsibility for the cafeteria operations.
- Determines staffing schedules.
- Approves payroll.
- Maintains 10 hours of professional development per year as part of the USDA Professional Standards for All School Nutrition Employees.
