Responsibilities:
Tests and trouble-shoots transformers, rectifiers, power supplies (digital and analog), circuits, PLC’s, and equipment using multimeters, oscilloscopes, temperature probes, chart recorders, watt meters and other related equipment.
Performs Commissioning installations, Preventative Maintenance, complex trouble shooting, problem analysis and product specific service.
Must be able to work independently, under minimal supervision, and work well with other individuals and teams.
Must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally as needed to service equipment, approximately 40-50% of the time after probationary training has been completed.
Conducts equipment and/or unit start-ups and performs field service activities, including consulting with engineering as needed to adhere to specifications.
Participates in quality inspection activities.
Documents test and service reports.
Works with voltages in the range of 480vac-13,800vac and occasionally up to 35kV and large MVA units and will assist in medium and high voltage testing.
Education and Experience:
Two-year technical degree in electronics, electrical, engineering, or equivalent.
2+ years of test/troubleshooting experience in the field of Industrial Electronics, Power Electronics is preferred.
Knowledge of PLC programming, software and hardware is a plus.
Electrician (E-2) is a plus.
Required Skills, Competencies, Authorities and Training Needs:
Must be familiar with the concept and application of the following; actual work experience in at least one
of these areas is preferred:
o Reactor and transformer applications.
o Single-phase and three-phase AC power.
o AC/DC rectification and SCR (Thyristor) control.
o Test and calibration of Industrial power equipment.
Strong ability to read electronic schematics and comprehend specifications.
Experience using industrial instrumentation (electro-mechanical meters and gauges).
Good communication abilities, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Computer literacy using worksheets and word processing as well as customized data acquisition software.
Must be able to work independently, under minimal supervision, and work well with other individuals and teams.
Must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally as needed to service equipment, approximately 40-50% of the time.
Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
