* Broward County Journeyman Electrician License.
* Certification in 4160 volts 3 phase construction and maintenance.
* Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) Level 1 Certification.
* Certification in the following areas:
- SCADA/Allen Bradley PLC and I/O Construction commissioning and/or programming experience;
- Calibrating, installing, commissioning, and/or programming differential pressure and magnetic flow meters/pressure and sonic-level transmitters.
- Analytical instrument installation and maintenance.
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.
Supervises subordinates in the use of a variety of instrumentation and electronic equipment including electronic tests, pneumatic/hydraulic testers, computers, master controllers, shop tools, and other specialized devices.
Installs, adjusts, and maintains alternating and direct current devices, sensors, recorders, analog/digital parameter transmitters and receivers; installs and tests special equipment such as antennae, frequency monitors, microphones, cable and electrical interference suppressors.
Installs, adjusts, and maintains medium high and ultra-high frequency alternating and direct current radio receivers, transmitters, and auxiliaries according to diagrams, drawings and sketches.
Supervises and participates in the installation, adjustment, repair, and maintenance of flow loop system, alternating and direct current circuitry with solid state electronic micro circuitry, pneumatic control systems, and related equipment.
Supervises and participates in on-site maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting work.
Assigns work to subordinate technicians, participates in the more difficult phases of installation, adjustment, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computers, flow measuring devices, sensors, analog/digital controllers, programmable controllers, transmitters and receivers, detecting devices, and other alternating and direct current devices.
Supervises complete overhaul, including adjusting, repairing, and replacing parts and converting obsolete equipment to conform to present control loop design and construction standards.
Makes recommendations to superiors for the improvement of instrumentation, industrial electronic/electrical, pneumatic/mechanical control devices and digital frequency shift telemetry.
Estimates time and materials required for proposed jobs maintains records and submits various reports requisitions supplies and equipment; prepares and maintains operating and special reports as required by his superior.
