Electronics Calibration Technician

Job Description:

A Electronics Calibration Technician routinely tests a variety of test equipment and instruments, verifying readings and outputs meet expected results. Any deviations are analyzed, adjusted, or repaired as necessary.

Technician will independently be able to evaluate, select and properly use appropriate test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment applicable to measurement parameters; follow in-house or manufacturer procedures and specifications; have a working knowledge of measurement uncertainty; demonstrate strong math skills; use trade tools such as wire strippers, drills, files, and soldering irons to remove and replace parts; and utilize safety practices and procedures in accordance with all applicable regulations.

Qualification requirements emphasize quality of experience, not necessarily length of time. Qualifications will be evaluated based on test equipment experience, breadth and level of knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or competencies in the job elements.

This technician is required to be highly independent and be able to prioritize daily tasks and workflow. Some travel to customer worksites is required.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

- Installation of new or repaired equipment or parts

- Routine testing, calibration, and monitoring of equipment

- Analysis and interpretation of testing result data

- Troubleshooting when results fall out of the expected ranges

- Repair of equipment as necessary

- Ordering of parts

- Compilation of reports for facility management

- Ability to apply measurement uncertainty
