I’m working with a pharmaceutical company who are on the lookout for a process engineer to join their team in Kinston, North Carolina.
This is a medium sized pharmaceutical company but they are investing heavily in their staff and their infrastructure to be able to grow into a well-known household brand.

Your Responsibilities:
· Evaluate instrumentation and control systems during equipment onboarding, offering guidance on suitable instrumentation and control systems for site standardization strategy, and identifying new calibration standards as needed.
· Participate in project reviews from engineering conceptualization through detailed design and start-up to select instrumentation and Controls.
· Perform planned calibrations and corrective work on instrumentation in line with internal procedures.
· Manage contractor services for externally performed calibrations, including obtaining quotes and contracts, scheduling, on-site supervision, and training to ensure compliance with internal procedures.
· Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair control systems such as PLCs, SCADA systems, and DCS.
· Collaborate with various departments to complete calibrations, minimizing equipment downtime.
· Communicate out-of-tolerance instrument findings to equipment owners and report to the Calibration and Controls Lead, initiating deviations in the Quality Management System and serving as an SME in investigations as necessary.
· Support periodic reviews of instrument out-of-tolerance events and suggest areas for improvement or correction.
· Draft, revise, and review calibration procedures.
· Develop and maintain troubleshooting narratives for control systems.
· Monitor critical systems tied to the Building Management Control System, responding to alarms and reporting findings to equipment owners.
· Calibrate various instruments and equipment types such as temperature, pressure, flow, and level transmitters.
· Monitor and extract trends from the Building Monitoring System, reporting trends and relevant information to equipment owners.
· Actively monitor and troubleshoot automation control issues within the Building Automation System.
· Upload completed calibration documentation and other corrective work into the Maintenance CMMS system, adhering to Good Documentation Practices.
Your Qualifications:
· 5+ years of experience in installing, maintaining, testing, repairing, and calibrating complex equipment within a cGMP or highly regulated environment.
· Preferably hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, electronics, or a related field.
· Effective communication skills for reporting Calibration and control issues impacting product quality.
· Ability to troubleshoot problems within complex instrumentation and control systems, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
· Experience in selecting calibration standards and using calibration software programs.
· Familiarity with CMMS-related systems and documentation management.
· Willingness to provide troubleshooting and support after hours, responding to building management and monitoring systems.
· Preferred experience in documentation management within a structured Quality System such as ISO or FDA regulations.
