Boeing Defense is looking for an Electronic Technician to support their facility in Kent, WA.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Technicians perform electronic and software testing, troubleshooting, diagnosis, adjustment and repair of electronic components, systems, and related test equipment.
- May also assist in the fabrication, assembly, and testing of prototype, electronic assemblies.
- Obtain hardware and work order (W/O). Work assignment is determined by schedule date on order, priority tag with job, or lead.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Obtain appropriate engineering drawings and test documents for assigned job if drawings and documents are not with work order.
- Set up and perform bench test or automatic test as required per work order, test document, test equipment manuals, and/or engineering instructions.
- Perform tests using various computer systems, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and meters of various types.
- Troubleshoot faults in electronic circuits and/or hardware (e.g., Special Test Equipment, shop aids) and adjust or repair.
- Select proper hand, power, and/or bench tools needed to perform required operation, such as screwdrivers, pliers, torque wrenches, crimpers, cable tools, band saw, drill press, circular sander.
- Write tie-ins, and maintain records such as work log for areas/equipment.
- Devise and/or build shop aids and work around methods as necessary to troubleshoot systems.
- Handle and protect components and assemblies in accordance with shop procedures and drawing requirements.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous materials (ketone, naphtha, alcohol, Metre-Grip, Loctite) in approved manner (in accordance with MSDS- Material Safety Data Sheets) using personal protective equipment.
- Pack electronic equipment for travel as required per drawing and Boeing (BAC) specifications.
- Maintain test equipment (e.g. periodic maintenance, STE's, shop aids, monitor certification dates.)
- Maintain personal and tool certifications.
- Check work after completion of each operation to be sure job is per drawing.
- Submit completed job or reworked job up for inspection.
- Contact lead/supervisor/engineer/planner when assistance is needed (e.g., if there are questions about drawings or paperwork, if drawings and paperwork do not match, or when any other problem arises).
Security Clearance & Export Control Requirements:
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
- Must be a minimum of at least 18 years of age.
- Must have experience with loadable software airplane parts (LSAPs).
- Must have experience with a wide range of electronic manning, planning and scheduling tools, to include STEP, Microsoft Office products, database management, and formal syllabus flight training requirements.
- Minimum one year of experience with printed circuit board fabrication, test, and validation.
- Minimum one year of experience working with or around fiber optics.
- Minimum one year of experience with calibration of fiber optic sources, meters, optical spectrum analyzers, spectral radiometers, photometers, UV sources, Laser energy and power measurement.
- Minimum one year of hands on experience with power and control electronics circuit design, product design and manufacturing.
- Minimum one year of testing and troubleshooting electronics and electrical systems.
Relocation:
This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
Additional Information:
This is an hourly position governed by the International Association of Machinist (IAM-751) Collective Bargaining agreement.
