The Electronic Payments Specialistwill be responsible for the daily processing of all ACH, Checks, Wires, Mobile Deposits, and Zelle transactions. This role will be cross-trained to step in and support the Operations team when necessary. All work will be performed in a timely and proficient manner in accordance with Credit Union policies and procedures. This role is responsible for providing excellent service to our members and internal customers.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Core Job Duties (80%)
  • Performs all responsibilities in accordance with Seattle CU Competencies, compliance, regulatory and Information Protection requirements.
  • Ensures that all check clearing, wire transfers, and ACH transactions are conducted within the specified time limitations set by the Federal Reserve.
  • Processing of payments, account corrections, garnishments, levies, Remote Deposit checks.
  • Retrieves and posts incoming/outgoing wires to ensure members' accounts and internal accounts are properly credited or debited on a daily basis.
  • Resolves internal and external discrepancies by locating and investigating all supporting documentation to provide an exceptional member experience.
  • Performs Quality Control reviews and maintaining a log of errors for training purposes.
  • Notifies management of any trends or major errors in information being reported.
  • Recommends improvements to processes as necessary to achieve continuous quality improvement and maximize efficiency.
  • Performs additional duties, as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Cross-Functional and Administrative Duties (20%)
  • Assists internal teams with special projects and assignments. These assignments may include but are not limited to: deposits, loan payments, returned mail, scan and distribute interoffice mail, and Skip-a-Pay processing.
  • Successfully completes all credit union required training and job-specific training courses relating to electronic payment systems and applicable rules and regulations.
  • Participates in briefings to management and responds to audit/exam questions as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum two years of experience in Electronic Payment Systems processing.
  • Minimum two years working in the financial services industry.
  • Ability to handle several tasks and priorities simultaneously.
    • Proficiency working within a virtual workspace with adaptability to work in office.
    • Must have strong work ethic, effective interpersonal skills including excellent verbal and written communication, team and goal oriented, professional attitude, work well under pressure, attention to detail, organized, flexible, honest, able to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Exercises an appropriate level of courtesy, tact, and professional communications with credit union employees, members, and vendors
    • Passion to help the underserved.
    • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel,

PowerPoint, Visio).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Financial Institution background.
  • Knowledge and understanding of NACHA rules and its general application
    • Creative, flexible, results-oriented demeanor
    • Strong tech interest and the ability to teach others
    • Leads others in a dynamic, positive way
    • Communicates with tact, discretion, and empathy

Working Conditions:
  • May be required to attend off-hours and off-site meetings.
  • Indirect exposure to robbery.
  • Work is a mix of in-office and remote work from home.
  • Headquarters office is based in Seattle, WA.
