Foundational qualities the Automation Technician candidate must have
Strong demonstrated adherence to company rules and regulations on PPE.
Genuine practicing 5S PMs of control panels and IDF rooms and MCC rooms.
Willingness to come in early or stay past normal schedule in the event the need arises, this will not be the norm but will be required if necessary.
Willingness to come in on unscheduled days for projects that require to be completed during non-production operational work for implementing a change then test the change and ensuring turnkey startup the next scheduled production start date and time.
Good understanding of IDF room peripherals i.e. room/switch/port
Genuine understanding of ladder logic and willingness to learn more in depth.
Genuine understanding of the automation stack

- 3-5 years in this role with demonstrated electrical safety knowledge L.O.T.O., Arc Flash, Electrical PPE in a manufacturing plant.
- 3-5 years in this role with demonstrated electrical history and knowledge to reference NEC code books, UGLY handbook.
- 3-5 years in this role with demonstrated tech support autonomous escalation practices i.e. tech connect support escalation.
- Solid demonstrated electrical relay logic troubleshooting.
- Solid demonstrated organizational skills and practices.
- 3-5 years in this role with understanding and use of MS Excel, MS Word, MS PPT i.e. creating end of shift reports, creating a visual understanding of an automation explanation w. WORD or PPT for detailed understanding when a simple email or phone conversation is not enough.
- 3-5 years in this role with demonstrated knowledge of control voltage troubleshooting with DMM, and other D/A meters to the end device level to determine and rectify the root cause of failure(s) for 120VAC, 24VDC circuits.
- 3-5 years in this role with demonstrated history & knowledge with VFD troubleshooting with intentions to resolve faults or replace and configure VFD to be safely placed back in operation with correct parameters.
- 3-5 years in this role with demonstrated history & knowledge of monitoring and creating VFD parameter backups on a quarterly basis using asset management software.
- 3-5 years in this role with demonstrated understanding and reading of P&IDs and using P&IDs and Electrical Prints (USA & European standards) for effective troubleshooting.
- 3-5 years in this role with demonstrated history and knowledge of troubleshooting and understanding and reading pneumatic drawings.
- 3-5 years in this role with demonstrated history and knowledge of troubleshooting SMART pneumatic networked valve banks.
- 3-5 years in this role with demonstrated history and knowledge of troubleshooting pneumatic actuators and pneumatic valves.
- 3-5 years in this role with demonstrated diagnosis and troubleshooting control panel power supplies.
- 3-5 years in this role with demonstrated diagnosis and troubleshooting control panel transformers.
- 3-5 years in this role with demonstrated diagnosis, understanding, and troubleshooting control panel fuses and circuit breakers.
- Solid demonstrated diagnosis and troubleshooting managed and unmanaged ethernet switches and industrial grade ethernet cabling and connections.
- Solid demonstrated diagnosis and troubleshooting using plant S.C.A.D.A
- 3-5 years in this role with demonstrated diagnosis and troubleshooting using DMM & D/A meters troubleshooting PLC and Client discrete and analog I/O inside and outside of a control panel.
- 3-5 years in this role with demonstrated diagnosis and troubleshooting of pressure, temperature and flow instruments and willingness to learn calibration validation PM's.
- Solid demonstrated diagnosis and troubleshooting HART protocol devices.
