The neurodiagnostic technologist performs basic NCSs in the laboratory under the indirection supervision of an EDX physician. They have completed basic NCS training and hold an active registry as an RNCST or CNCT.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school graduate.
- Two to four years of college preferred, but not required. If candidate does not have college, then OJT position at a large hospital with demonstrated competencies may be considered as substitute for END program.
- Graduation from a CAAHEP-approved END training program highly desirable.
- Candidate must have three to five years of experience in NCS modalities with three to five years of preferred experience.
- Candidate must possess RNCST or CNCT or be registry-eligible.
- Ideal candidate must possess strong analytical skills, capacity to work and effectively communicate with acute and chronically ill patients and the circumstances that surround these patients.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Registered EMG tech (RNCST, CNCT).
- Health care provider BLS (American Heart, American Red Cross).
