Description
SAIC is seeking an Electromechanical QA Technician to support NAVAIR in Indianapolis, IN.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Supports engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment.
- Applications may include electronic circuits, photonics and logic systems. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.
- Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
- Collects, maintains, organizes, compiles, and manipulates technical data. Prepares engineering documentation, reports, drawings (sketches/flow charts/diagrams/schematics, etc.).
- Performs mathematical calculations per engineering specifications.
- Undertakes analyses of data where guidelines are provided.
JOB DUTIES:
- Inspections, quality control, and final buy off on mechanical parts/subassemblies and circuit boards.
- Using various instruments to include calipers, gauge pins, etc.
- Taking measurements of machined parts to verify specifications.
- Inspecting Subassemblies.
- Verifying quality control of parts from vendors.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:
- HS/GED and (5) five years related experience.
- Preferred background in quality, engineering, Aerospace, or military specifications.
- Candidate must be a US Citizen.
- Excellent technical, analytical, and engineering qualifications with outstanding customer service skills.
- Experience with Customer Service, Support & Communication.
- Experience with document control, technical documentation, blueprints & schematics.
- Problem Identification & Resolution.
- Proficiency using calipers, micrometers, and gauge pins, depth gauges and other gages as required.
- Perform dimensional measurements with instruments.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- ISO 9000; ISO 9001; AS9100
- Preferred background as a Navy or USMC Aviation Electronics technician.
