Job Opportunity: QC/QA Technician (2nd Shift)

Job Description:
Our client in the food and beverage industry is looking to add a knowledgeable and caring Quality Control & Analysis Technician to their team to support their mission in providing high quality products, while keeping environmental safety and sustainability at the top of their minds! This opportunity is located near the West Side of Indianapolis, and is approximately 15-20 minutes from Monument Circle. In this opportunity, you would be able to expect to work Monday through Friday from 2:00pm-10:30pm, with a starting rate of $20.50/hr. While working this role, you'll get to work hands-on in the lab AND on the production floor, as you will be expected to perform the following:
On a daily basis:
- Lab Calibrations for pH meter, Agtron, and Moisture Meter
- Sample all products produced
- Read micro plates and enter data
- Submit production paperwork for management review
- Microplate all samples for the day
- Complete GMP plant walkthrough
- Clean lab area including counters, lab equipment, sample fridges, and incubators
- Organize retain cooler/verify organization
- Complete QA swab form & QA Pre-op form
Weekly task:
- Cupping new lots
- Finish all raw incoming work
- Verify refractometers & pipettes
Monthly Tasks:
- Environmental swabs
- Water testing
- Complete lab/cooler inventory data collection
- Sort through retains, dispose of old ones
- Calibrate pipettes & scales
- Verify thermometers
Top Skills:
- Experience with Quality assurance, Quality Control, Quality Testing
- Experience with GMP, FDA, and/or Food safety
- Experience in Manufacturing, Production, Sanitation
- Machine operator, Batch Mixer, pH Test, Chemistry, Food safety, Laboratory
Must Have:
1) ONE OF THE FOLLOWING ACADEMIC BACKGROUNDS:
- Bachelor's degree in a life science (entry level graduate)
OR
- Associate's degree in a life science AND 1+ year of GMP/manufacturing experience (preferably within food and bev. but open if it is relevant to some sort of quality documentation + lab testing)
OR
- A High School Diploma/GED AND 2+ years experience working within a GMP setting AND 1+ years experience working within a Quality Department
2) Strong communication skills, as this candidate will be working directly with all departments
3) Ability to troubleshoot
4) Computer skills- experience working with Excel
