As an Electric Vehicle Battery Test Technicianat Ample, you will play a critical role in ensuring the performance and safety of our battery systems. You will work closely with the test engineering team to build test setups, execute the tests, and collect critical data.
What You'll do:
- Battery Testing and Analysis:
- Conduct performance and durability tests on Electric Vehicle batteries in accordance with established protocols.
- Apply a deep understanding of the Theory of Operation of Electric Vehicle batteries to design and execute comprehensive testing procedures.
- Monitor and analyze test data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure testing aligns with project goals.
- Instrumentation and Setup:
- Set up and configure test equipment and instrumentation for accurate and repeatable testing.
- Troubleshoot and maintain test equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Must have hands-on experience with specialty tools.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Document test procedures, parameters, and results accurately.
- Prepare detailed reports summarizing test findings, including any deviations from expected outcomes.
- The position requires frequent travel within the United States.
- Quality Control:
- Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Identify and address any issues that may impact the validity of test data.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand testing requirements and objectives.
- Communicate effectively with team members, providing regular updates on test progress and results.
What You'll Bring:
- Education:
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Proven experience as a Battery Test Technician or a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of the Theory of Operation of Electric Vehicle batteries.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using test equipment such as Battery Cyclers, Hipot Testers, data loggers, oscilloscopes, DVOM and battery monitoring.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, reliable results.
- Communication:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
