Georgia-Pacific's M edium Density Fiberboard plant in Mt Jewett, PA has an incredible opportunity for an Electrical Technician. This role is eligible for a $1,500 staggered Retention Bonus. Electrical Technicians are also eligible for quarterly variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
Our Electrical Technicians are responsible for installing and troubleshooting electrical equipment within the mill to support the long-term quality and production goals of the organization. This position also performs preventative maintenance to ensure electrical equipment reliability.
Electrical Technicians work 12-hour rotating shifts. The Shift hours are from 6:00am - 6:00pm and 6:00pm - 6:00am. Individuals in the role will also work as needed: holidays, weekends, and overtime.

What You Will Do
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment and circuits
- Maintain, program, and troubleshoot, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Maintain and troubleshoot circuits and components on pneumatic systems, control devices, and hydraulic equipment
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics to troubleshoot and install equipment
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on electrical equipment
- Adhere to and promote all safety policies to include wearing all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e. hard hats, safety glasses, face shield, chemical suit, respirator, ear plugs, hearing protection, steel-toe boots or safety shoes and other PPE required by specific jobs)
- Perform work that includes lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for at least 12 hours a day
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience or Education in ONE of the following: two years of industrial maintenance experience, two years of industrial military experience, or have a two year technical degree or higher in industrial electrical maintenance or electrical engineering
- Experience reading electrical schematics/mechanical drawings
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience programming and troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Experience installing, examining, replacing, or repairing Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and motor controllers
- Experience using a computer for record-keeping and documentation functions
