Electrical Project Manager - Commercial Construction (For Phoenix)

Purpose:

The Electrical Project Manager assists in planning and carrying out policies relating to the management of construction projects by performing the duties listed below. They will have a basic understanding of the role and policies/procedures but will require frequent oversight and assistance to complete a project. The projects are primarily medium range voltage. Relocation will be considered. Data center experience required.  This position is located in Phoenix. 

Essential Functions:

• Learn and understand private client and/or government documentation requirements
• Maintains a sense of urgency and professionalism
• Assist in managing subcontractors and coordinating subcontractor work to ensure the project schedule is met
  • Understands construction sequencing
  • Can assist in conceptual development of work plans, and project implementation
  • Possess rudimentary scheduling skills, with an understanding of scheduling concepts
• Knowing with whom and when to communicate

  • Reads and understands the Accident Prevention Plan and executes the plan to include all documentation
  • Develop and implement a working knowledge of the client required safety programs, whether private or the Corps Of Engineer safety manual/requirements,
  • Develops and understands infection control standards and methods

  • Ensures all work is installed per the work plan document and that quality is met by utilizing the QCP
• Suspect and inspect
  • Proper use of the deficiency log. Performs timely inspections and uses the deficiency log in order to have a 0-punch list project
• Identify and assist in resolving problems and conflicts early by utilizing specific controls established in the QCP
• Effectively participate in Owners meeting to ensure there is a complete understanding of the project and any current issues or outstanding questions
• Issue agenda stating issues and objectives of the meeting; issued in enough time to ensure a productive meeting and produces the minutes of those meetings
• Continually working to develop Delegation and Leadership skills

• Assists in preparing our pay requisition to the customer and subcontractors’ invoices to accounting
• Learn budgets and develop an understanding of the “Bluefolder” process
• Assist in Writing and executing subcontracts and the scope of work
• Scope and price construction change orders under senior management oversight
• Manage schedule, close out and job cost with senior management oversight
• Manage the QC and Safety program with senior management oversight
• Develops monthly progress reports to the customer
• Develops Monthly Risk Reports
• Manages the submittal process
• Learns to identify and Proactively manage risk
• Basic Understanding of LEEDS and can assist in implementing the LEED requirements
• Basic ability to read and understanding project plans specifications
• Assist in preparing all required close out documentation while learning the close out process
• Continually developing skills and qualities in work procurement

Education/Certifications:

Electrical Trade/Technical experience with a minimum of 3 years of direct experience in a related field. These requirements may change based on the requirements of a contract and the Project Manager may be labelled a different type of position to accommodate such requirements.

• OSHA 30
• First Aid / CPR / AED
