We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Electrical Engineer to design and develop cutting-edge, life-saving Medical device systems and therapies.
A Day in the Life:
Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks.
Designs sensing circuitry (Analog to Digital conversion) in the areas of temperature, voltage and current.
Designs various device to device interfaces as required (I2C, SPI)
Prepares power budget and designs board level point of load supplies to satisfy the system needs.
Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, and industrial markets.
- Bachelors degree required
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
Nice to Have:
- Understanding and experience in design, development, and testing of electromechanical medical devices
- Experience with product concept development, customer interaction, electromechanical design, systems engineering and validation of customer needs/design requirements
- Demonstrated ability to assess the feasibility of emerging technologies through research and prototyping
- Working knowledge of systems engineering principles, requirements management and medical device regulation
- Demonstrated strength in building strong relationships at all levels of the organization, cross-functionally, and with key people external to the organization
- Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) or Design, Reliability & Manufacturability (DRM) certification
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, simulate and resolve issues in embedded system designs
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python, C, Verilog, VHDL, Matlab, and LabVIEW
- Demonstrated experience using simulation and modeling tools such as LTSPICE, Ansys - Designer, Ansys SI Wave
- Demonstrated experience using design software such as Mentor Graphics PADS Suite, Cadence, Altium
- Demonstrated experience in the following areas: IEC 60601 Electrical Safety and Electromagnetic Compatibility, RoHS compliance, REACH compliance, Electronic prototyping (i.e. rapid PCB design and testing), Agile Development, Atlassian Toolkit (Jira)
- Experience with statistical analysis tools such as Minitab, Design Expert, JMP
- Experience with medical device design controls (e.g. ISO 13485) and risk analysis (e.g. ISO 14971)
- Practical knowledge of project management.
- Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication, judgment, decision making, and critical thinking

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
