In this position, you will take support senior engineers in designing electrical systems for various clients in healthcare, science, technology and higher education markets sectors. You will coordinate and work with the design team within your discipline and work with the VP and Directors to execute project objectives in a timely and efficient manner.
The responsibilities of the position are:
- Perform engineering calculations, preparing single line diagrams, sizing of electrical components and equipment, conduct short circuit analysis where required and prepare technical specificationsPerform engineering calculations, preparing single line diagrams, sizing of electrical components and equipment, conduct short circuit analysis where required and prepare technical specificationPerform engineering calculations, preparing single line diagrams, sizing of electrical components and equipment, conduct short circuit analysis where required and prepare technical specificationPerform design, layout and checking of electrical systems drawings and ensure the technical correctness of the drawings by using applicable job, federal, state and local standards and codes.
- Have good working knowledge of the National Electric Code and IBC, general familiarity with other NFPA codes that may apply to a specific project.
- Develop specifications, assign area classifications, and review shop drawing submissions to ensure that they comply with necessary codes and standards, correct materials specifications, the project design intent and any other specific guidelines set forth for the job.
- Perform site surveys, energy audits, attend project meetings and provide field construction support as required.
- Review projects regularly to ensure departmental standards and requirements are consistent with client requirements and the project budget.
