Summary
The Electrical Engineer position is located in our East Palestine, Ohio facility. This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on in a wide variety of areas that include design engineering, assembly, condition monitoring, acceptance testing, automation, and software development in support of our customers in the steel industry.

What you’ll do
- Must 1+ years of experience. Internship experience is welcome
- Work on the electrical design, assembly, and commissioning of various equipment used in the metals industry.
- Provide field service and support for our customers.
- Manage projects of varying size and scope
- Develop and edit software including Windows applications with Visual Studio, and Excel macros written in VBA.
- Perform testing and inspections on equipment sent to our shop for repair.
- Perform condition monitoring at customers’ sites on using a variety of sensors and data acquisition systems. You’ll also analyze the collected data and write reports on the findings.
- Work on the assembly of electrical components including wiring control panels, building custom boxes using embedded computers, soldering, and assembling cables.
- Create technical documentation including engineering drawings, reports, and user manuals.
- Establish relationships with our customers and serve as a point of contact for technical support.
What you’ll need
- A Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Electromechanical Engineering with relevant experience through either past work history or internships and co-ops. We will consider other backgrounds for the right candidate.
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Willingness to work both hands-on and in an office environment.
- Some experience in CAD. We utilize Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and AutoCAD Electrical.
- Some exposure to programming. We use Visual Studio (C#), and Excel VBA. We also build equipment that uses Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMI
- Familiarity with motors, motor control, and variable frequency drives.
- MS Office software knowledge, especially Excel.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability work well both independently and within a group consisting of various backgrounds.
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites. Travel is less than 10%. Overnight travel is typically less than 5%.
- The ability to understand mechanical concepts.
