Electrical Engineer

Moog is looking for an Electrical Engineer for our new internal start-up business, Moog Construction.
Moog Construction focuses on the construction and mobile machinery industry. The goal is to address global macro trends for green energy, skilled labor shortages and increased productivity through technological disruptions: electrification, automation, and connectivity by enabling automation and electrification outside of the factory. This new business unit will pursue a portfolio of several strategic options including: Zero Emissions Systems, Advanced & Automated Systems, Autonomous & Special Purpose Moog Systems, and Digital & Cloud Services. You will be focused on the development, launch and scale of Zero Emission & Automated Systems.
You will employ the latest technologies to help implement electrification, tele-robotic control, and autonomous control of mobile machinery. You will engage with internal and external stakeholders to lead efforts to grow and launch products in this exciting area. You will be reporting to the Principal Engineer. This opportunity is based in the Buffalo, New York area.
To be considered for the Electrical Engineer position, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

• Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering plus six (6) years of experience developing mechanical devices or control systems.
• You will have a broad knowledge of robotics oriented electronics.
• This includes elements of power electronics, control electronics, computing platforms, and communications hardware. Familiarity with robotics software (ROS, ROS2, C++, Linux), as is familiarity with new sensor technologies
• Ability to relocate to the Western New York area.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will:

• Help develop architectural approaches to tele-robotic and autonomous control of electrified and conventional (ICE) vehicles, including developing an appropriate functional safety approach
• Evaluate sensors, IC's, and equipment associated with robotics (GNSS, LIDAR, radar, safety controllers...)
• Develop PC boards implementing the selected architectures, including selecting the appropriate topology, sensors, IC's, and passives, simulating circuitry, guiding procurement and fabrication of the boards, and testing the resultant boards
• Integrate PCB's and equipment to constitute a vehicle controller
• Test and support of the resultant controllers

The base pay range for this opportunity is $76,876.80 - $141,939.20 per year.
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
