ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Electrical Engineer at PAX, you are responsible for aiding in the design process for products that are innovative, cost-efficient, reliable, and ship on schedule. Electrical Engineers at PAX work with product development teams to support high-value engineering activities. You'll interact with all engineering design disciplines as well as product integrity, manufacturing, and other resources inside and outside PAX. This role is on-site at our San Francisco HQ.

As an Electrical Engineer at PAX, you will

  • Design, build, and validate PCBAs and test fixtures.
  • Create, modify, and update schematics, BOMs, and PCB layouts for new and existing products.
  • Write test specifications and procedures for electrical and electromechanical assemblies
  • Provide test fixture repair support for manufacturing, QA, and contract manufacturers during NPI.
  • Troubleshoot product failures on PCBs, power supplies, and electromechanical assemblies during initial ramp.
  • Travel to support manufacturing builds; mostly international travel.
  • Support Sustaining Engineering.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN YOU

  • 1 to 3 years of full time Electrical Engineering / Embedded Systems experience.
  • Strong understanding of EE fundamentals. V = IR!
  • Willingness to be hands-on and work on-site at our San Francisco HQ.
  • Strong test and debugging capabilities with critical thinking skills.
  • SMD and through-hole soldering capabilities. In this role you should expect to be working on boards on a daily basis.
  • Schematic and PCB layout experience, preferably with Altium Designer.
  • Familiarity with embedded communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART).
  • Software experience with Python (for test automation) and/or firmware experience with C (for embedded microcontroller work) is desired.
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary (EE/ME/FW/SW) custom tool design is desired.

EDUCATION

  • BS in Electrical, Computer or related field. Associate's degree with significant experience will be considered. Master's degree is a plus.

COMPENSATION

In addition to the benefits above, this role has a pay range between $95-110k + equity. This pay range represents what we believe, in good faith, this role will pay. The final pay will depend on many factors, including years and depth of experience, level, and location of the employee. We only expect to pay the top of the range in rare and exceptional circumstances, for candidates that far exceed the requirements and expectations of the position.
