Electrical Designer / CAD Drafter

Position Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed electrical drawings that meet the specifications of our client
- Partner with the engineering team to ensure the accuracy of the drawings
- Assist with the project development using AutoCAD, Revit and other design tools
- Use expertise in design and analysis to ensure that the drawings are thorough and complete
- Communicate and exchange concepts and ideas with the technical and project management teams
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineering and technical professionals
- Provide regular project updates to the engineering and project management team
- Work with the 3D models to create 2D drawings for prefabrication and installation
- Transform initial rough product designs using CAD into working documents
- Independently develop in-house drafting standards, tools, and libraries
- Identify model content issues and coordinate with the team for needed corrections
- Ensuring work output is of a technically high standard and activities are commercially viable
- Review engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards
- Provision of technical input within budgeted times and costs as agreed with the Project Manager
- Liaising with Project Managers to ensure work outputs are meeting client needs
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Must have expert knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor
- Electrical design experience is a major plus
- Possess no less than 3 years of related drafting experience
- Possess a positive and proactive approach to addressing challenges and working with team members
- Ability to build strong professional cross-functional relationships
- Honest, trustworthy and dependable
- Sound knowledge of manual and CAD drafting techniques
- Familiarization with current drafting requirements for various industries
- Ability to read and navigate through construction drawings, electrical drawings, 1-line diagrams
- Technical knowledge of Mechanical systems, Electrical systems and
- Construction methodologies/processes via experience or education
- Good problem-solving abilities
- Organized, systematic and competent to perform detailed tasks
- Self-starter and motivated to work efficiently and effectively
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work and cooperate with others on an international setting
Compensation:
- Full Time
- $20.00 - $27.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
- Excess Straight Time pay for work over 40hrs/week (8hr/day when traveling)
- Annual Performance Bonus, up to 18% of Salary (not guaranteed, dependent on independent performance and company performance/profitability)
- 6-month performance evaluation salary increase (Not guaranteed, dependent on independent performance)
- 12-month performance evaluation salary increase (Not guaranteed, dependent on independent performance)
