Job Summary:
An Electrical Control Engineer designs, develops, and maintains electrical control systems. This includes creating schematics, selecting materials, testing systems, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Collaboration with other engineers and departments is essential. Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities are required for success in this field.
Responsibilities:
- Lead kick-off and project requirement meetings.
- Conduct the installation, commissioning, and operation of electrical and electronic equipment and systems.
- Set up and operate specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose, test, and analyze the performance of electrical and electronic components, assemblies, and systems.
- Conduct advanced PLC Programming, HMI Design, Electrical Design, Commissioning, Troubleshooting/Testing/Debugging.
- Create and update project documentation.
- Support field service work and emergency calls at client locations.
- Give technical guidance to less experienced engineers/controls specialists or technicians assigned to work on a common project.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
- Experience in the manufacturing environment.
- Must be skilled with AB PLC/HMI programming software.
- AutoCAD experience is required.
- Experience writing and troubleshooting PLC/HMI software for machinery and equipment. Familiarity with electrical hardware, including VF drives and scales.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Must be willing to travel approximately 15% domestically and some internationally.
