Description:
MUST HAVE SKILLS (Most Important):
•
EKS Architecture, Deployment experience as Platform Engineer
•
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and using test driven frameworks
•
Experience with hardening EKS Security for Cluster and Applications
•
Experience with EKS Platform automation to manage Cluster lifecycle (CRUD)
•
Experience working with Helm / Customize for Application lifecycle management and add-ons for K8s
•
Working knowledge of how underlying components that make up K8s (like CNI, kubelet, kube-proxy, CoreDNS) work
•
Strong communication and written skills
•
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with GitOps Model (using tools like Flux, Flagger)
•
Experience with AWS Identity Management (IAM Permission Boundaries, IRSA)
•
Experience with PKI and Certificate Management using cert-manager in K8s ecosystem
•
Experience with OPA/Gatekeeper/Kyverno Policy Management Experience with troubleshooting using AWS services like CloudTrail, CloudWatch
DESIRED SKILLS:
•
Experience designing and implementing EKS architecture through automation for Single and multi-tenant clusters Strong development / programming skills (Python, Terraform, Ansible, Golang)
•
Experience working in Agile Teams
•
Experience with orchestrating AWS EC2 Instance deployments in an enterprise setting
•
Experience working on Reference architecture documentation
•
Experience managing lifecycle of Istio Service Mesh (Community Edition) or equivalent service mesh technology
•
Knowledge of multi-mesh technology is a plus
JOB DUTIES: You will be working to help design and build EKS clusters for Client IT applications to migrate to or build in brownfield and greenfield deployments. You will combine the existing cloud design, policies, and practices in place today at Client for other clouds and apply to the EKS technology stack.
This includes the below: Enhance and contribute to existing and new EKS architectures Develop tooling and self-service capabilities Integrate automation workflows into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Gitlab and One Artifactory) using GitOps Model Collaborate with developers and partner infrastructure teams to enhance the developer experience
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
•
B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems or related technical degree CKA or relevant Kubernetes Certification (Nice to Have)
