WHAT WE WILL EXPECT FROM YOU
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental, occupational safety, industrial engineering, business management or other EHS related field
- 2+ years of hands-on industrial and/or manufacturing experience
- Strong time management and organizational competencies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Detail-oriented team player
- Comfortable working in an industrial setting
- Working knowledge of local, state, and federal guidelines, including OSHA, DOT, and EPA
- Enthusiastic, self-starter, energetic, organized, and service minded
- Ability to work with governmental agencies as a representative of the company
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Excel, PPT and Outlook
Responsibilities:
- Help develop and implement corporate EHS policies, procedures and programs to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations
- Assist EHS Manager in achieving the site’s EHS vision
- Perform safety and environmental training with contractors, employees, and visitors
- Work with the EHS Manager and site leadership to discuss and implement changes to improve performance in all EHS areas
- Gather and organize data and prepare environmental compliance reports
- Ensure that inspections and audits are performed, documented, and retained, gaps are identified, and deficiency plans are developed and implemented
- Lead and participate in the site’s safety committee meetings
- Work alongside the EHS Manager and site leaders to develop and implement compliance planning for future projects
- Participate in accident and near-miss investigations using five why and root cause analysis, the collection of witness statements, photographs, and the use of equipment or tools, to advise as to the prevention of accidents in the future
- Develop and maintain relationships with safety suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders to promote our safety culture
- Reports to EHS Manager

ABOUT US:
RNG production from corn stover began in December 2021 with the completion of Phase I, at a capacity of 7 million ethanol gallons equivalent (EGE) per year. Upon completion of Phase II in the 4th quarter of 2022, the site will begin operating as a biorefinery, producing 60 million gallons of corn-based ethanol and an additional 19 million (EGE) of RNG from stillage. The integration of RNG and ethanol production, unique to VERBIO, incorporates advanced operational technology currently practiced at the company’s facilities in Germany. The process also yields humus, a soil amendment, and organic fertilizers.
In January 2018, VERBIO AG formed its US subsidiary, VERBIO North America (VNA), with headquarters in Livonia, Michigan, USA. VNA plans to build, own, operate, and finance biofuel facilities across the United States and Canada.
