Job Overview

The Spartanburg operation is a state-of-the-art coffee roasting and pod packaging facility along with a full beverage distribution center. The site operation will function on the foundational principles of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance); principles of Lean manufacturing; and the power of High-Performance Teams. All associates at the Spartanburg site will have specific accountability and ownership of site operations and the functional business operations to which of they belong. The site will run on state-of-the-art enterprise information technology systems and manufacturing execution systems, and with highly automated processing equipment, packaging equipment, and material movement equipment, with highly standardized lean processes. 

 

Shift & Schedule: This is a full-time position on 1st shift working Monday through Friday, 8a-5pm. Flexibility to work outside of normal schedule, including Saturdays and off-shifts, is required.

 

As the EH&S Specialist you will have responsibility for assisting the EHS Leader in developing and maintaining the overall safety and environmental programs for ourSpartanburg site with a primary focus on the manufacturing environment of the Spartanburg Site. You will assist in the development and implementation of safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental programs for a manufacturing operation to ensure a compliant, safe, and incident-free work environment. You will also promote organizational safety and continuous environmental improvement by working with all departments to analyze current situations and recommend safety and environmental improvements. You will provide strategic directions and initiatives for safety and environmental improvement by analyzing and addressing root causes while reducing corporate liabilities and costs. 

 

  • Execute safety and industrial hygiene plans, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with company, local, state (SC DHEC), and federal (OSHA) rules and regulations.  
  • Maintain a commitment-based safety culture; develop and analyze leading indicators for the prevention of accidents and create/execute a continuous improvement plan.  
  • Maintain a system for reporting, monitoring, and correcting serious safety problems. 
  • Understand environmental plans, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with local, State, and Federal rules and regulations, and conformance to corporate policies  
  • Assist in the maintenance of conditions to comply with municipality and state-granted environmental permits (Air Emissions, Stormwater, Tier II) 
  • Work with with security contractors; ensure their scope of work provides adequate protection of the property, building and workforce. 
  • Develop and administer safety training to site contractors and visitors and ensure site contractors understand and comply with KDP safety and environmental policies. 
  • With contracted medical providers, provide case management for injured employees; follow HR Return to Work policies  
  • Create and distribute incident and accident reports per KDP Policy 
  • Implement training programs which will increase proficiency in safe practices, promote safety consciousness, ensure environmental compliance, and drive continuous improvement. 
  • Develop and implement a safety recognition process as part of a strong safety culture 
  • Communicate and celebrate successes to maintain and foster company-wide commitment to safety and environment; provide recommendations for corrective direction when EH&S programs deviate from strategic plans and objectives. 
  • Contribute to successful emergency planning and response; interact directly with Incident Commander and help execute KeurigDr Pepperemergency plans.   
  • Investigate all significant near misses, injuries, and safety events; work with teams to determine root cause and implement preventive measures. 
  •  Monitors activities where accidents could occur, halting any operation or activity that constitutes an imminent hazard to personnel or equipment. 
  • Follow all KeurigDr Pepperpolicies and procedures. 

Total Rewards
  • Compensation: This is an exempt, salaried position paid on a biweekly cycle. Compensation is flexible and determined by the candidate's experience level. Salary Range -  $59,000- $102,270. Targeted compensation $68,000
  • Benefits, subject to election and eligibility: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Paid Time Off (including paid parental leave, vacation, and sick time), 401k with company match, Tuition Reimbursement, and Mileage Reimbursement
  • Annual bonus based on performance and eligibility

Requirements
  • 2-5 years’ experience applying health & safety regulations and programs in a manufacturing environment 
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist, OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred Knowledge of High Voltage electrical safety requirements preferred 
    Experience in ISO environmental management systems preferred.
  • Ability to understand and apply municipal, state, and federal regulations and identify site-level requirements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage confidential information appropriately
  • Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing, and high-growth work environment, while maintaining rigorous attention to detail
  • Infrequent travel may be required
  • Work in a team environment; occasionally work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to provide timely response to emergencies
