EHS EL Summer Programming Teachers
DESCRIPTION:
Everett High School is seeking enthusiastic and qualified educators to teach an in-person summer enrichment program
to English Learner students. This program aims to provide academic support, with a real world, community building
approach. Students will receive instruction in cross curricular based learning.
WORKING TIMES:
July 8th, 2024-August 1st, 2024, Mondays- Thursdays from 8:00am- 1:00pm
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planning and facilitating engaging lessons for varying levels of English Learners at Everett High School
- Providing structured activities and/or lessons to support students’ social emotional needs
- Chaperoning field trips to engage students in real world learning experiences
- Modifying curriculum to meet the needs of diverse language groups; shelter content through the inclusion of vocabulary
strategies, sentence frames, and text dependent questions - Aiming to address learning gaps through a rigorous curriculum and supplemental platforms
- Taking attendance and assigning grades to students
- Communicating with the Site Supervisor about student progress, attendance issues, and family concerns
REQUIREMENTS:
- Massachusetts Teaching Licensure
- SEI Endoresement
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or Liberal Arts
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensure in ESL, ELA, Math, Biology or Social Studies Grades 6-12
- Enthusiasm for working with English Learners
- Willingness to collaborate with other colleagues
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
REMUNERATION: $4,000 stipend, based on $50.00/hr for 80 hours of time.
