JOB TITLE: Social Work - Education Advocate, Signing Bonus, Full-Time - Hybrid Schedule

Education Advocate Program for Students in Foster Care, Kindergarten through College

Kind to Kids Foundation is expanding our services and hiring full-time advocates with a background in Social Work for an education case management program for children in foster care. Case management experience for middle or high school students is required. The highly structured program facilitates education and improves grade completion, high school graduation rates, and outcomes for students in foster care. Advocates maintain reasonable caseloads of 12 - 16 students in the foster care system in Delaware - New Castle County, Kent County and or Sussex County. Twice weekly meetings are held at our administrative offices in Newark, DE. Advocates facilitate education by meeting with students at their homes and schools, and communicate their team of support to include teachers, guidance counselors, workers and foster parents. Barriers to education are identified, as well as implementing solutions that enable the students to succeed. Documentation and outcome are implemented to monitor student success.

Results: This position delivers positive impacts in the lives of the foster students served, along with a great work/life balance for program staff with Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Education Level: Bachelor’s degree required in Social Work, education, or similar field.
• Background check is required
• Delaware residency is required.
• Valid Driver's License is required (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
• Own reliable transportation and the ability to travel is required. Advocate travels to meet with students who attend school and are located statewide.
• Some evening or weekend hours as needed to meet with students. Occasional weekend event.

EXPERIENCE :

• At least three years experience in Social Work case management for a group of children is required - case management experience includes assessing, planning, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating options and services to meet children's needs.
• Must have experience with at-risk middle or high school students.
• Interviewing skills to obtain facts, explore issues and identify courses of action.

• Hybrid model - 66% of workweek is remote, with at least two office days

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and coordinate services with community agencies in a professional manner.
• Demonstrated ability to work with individuals of diverse social, economic, and cultural backgrounds and background and understanding of different learning styles required.
• Strong organizational, reporting, and data management skills
• Ability and aptitude with Word, Excel, and database management programs
• Commitment to excellence and integrity is mandatory.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to successfully manage time and prioritize workload.

• Weekly reporting utilizing Excel and online Salesforce dashboard.

The education advocate provides planning and monitoring of students on their caseloads in a student-centered approach. Advocates meet weekly with the students and monitors school performance and behavior. Advocates provide individualized support to ensure that students have the opportunities and resources needed to succeed each school year. Building relationships is fundamental to have effect with the students. Advocate are reviewed for measurements that demonstrate improved educational outcomes and graduation rates for teens enrolled in the program. Advocates assist students to develop a vision for his or her future.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $44,000.00 - $46,000.00 per year
