Job Description
Supports the Everence marketing team by engaging in a variety of writing and communication projects, including original written content creation across several Everence product, service, and distribution business areas, to meet corporate and marketing goals and strategies. Responsibilities include long- and short-form writing, copy editing, proofreading, and content curation across a variety of marketing channels including print, digital, TV, and radio, to promote the Everence brand.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Develop and produce engaging written content, including but not limited to articles, feature stories, blog posts, emails, and advertisement copy that drives awareness and engagement among target audiences.
- Review, proofread, and copy edit print and digital communications, including support for web and email platforms; publications and ad layouts, video productions, presentations, reports, etc. developed by others, to ensure brand voice and messaging are clear and consistent.
- Write for the Everence corporate magazine, Everyday Stewardship.
- Adhere to content calendars, meeting personal and corporate deadlines, to help ensure all editorial needs are met in a timely fashion.
- Monitor and update appropriate web and digital content.
- Collaborate closely with other members of the marketing team and other cross-functional areas to ensure content is up-to-date and best reflects current strategies.
- Grow in awareness and knowledge of Everence, its products/services, its clients and their customer experiences, the church, and current marketing trends and practices.
- Become familiar with and uphold the Everence writing standards.
- Become familiar with SEO best practices and keyword research, especially within the financial services industry.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical training in writing, communication, journalism, marketing, or related fields
Experience:
At least two years of relevant work experience, with four or more years preferred
Skills and Abilities:
- Proven strong and effective creative and technical writing skills
- Ability to:
- Manage multiple competing priorities
- Effectively work as part of a team
- Follow, apply, and reinforce brand guidelines and voice
- Computer literacy, specifically with:
- Both Mac and PC environments
- Microsoft Office
- Content management systems such as Sitecore, etc. or basic knowledge of HTML and CSS a plus
- Fluency in Spanish a plus
- Knowledge of Mennonite and related Anabaptist church values extremely helpful
- Knowledge of financial and insurance services extremely helpful
- Strong organizational skills
- A creative and collaborative spirit
- Less than 5% of overnight travel away from home
