Overview
The Editorial Assistant - Peer Review Management provides timely and accurate administrative support and coordinates the Peer Review process for a list of subscription and/or open access journals using our online Peer Review systems. Implement changes to improve efficiencies and adherence to standard methodologies across these titles.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
  • Manage the progress of journal article submissions using online Peer Review systems.
  • Supervise the quality of Peer Reviews received and communicate to the Peer Review Manager.
  • Promptly respond to queries from authors and other partners to ensure we provide a high quality service.
  • Monitor and report on turnaround times, Peer Review standards and author/editor survey results as the need arises.
  • Coordinate progress of special issues, liaise with Guest Editors and ensure publication targets are met.
  • Provide training and support for Editors, Associate Editors and reviewers.
  • Assess cases of plagiarism and duplication using online detection software.
  • Support department-wide initiatives and projects, as the need arises

Qualifications & Education
  • An interest in academic publishing and a keen appreciation of challenges and opportunities faced by the industry.
  • Knowledge of journal Peer Review and submission systems; ScholarOne Manuscripts™ experience desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to quickly digest a large amount of new and complex information.
  • Confident to ask questions, suggest ideas and contribute to group discussions.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy in researching, collating and reporting information and maintaining records.
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, ability to handle a dynamic and demanding workload efficiently.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to support communications with internal and external contacts.
  • Computer-literate with a good understanding and competent use of IT, standard software.

Compensation at SAGE is influenced by several factors, including but not limited to skill set, nature and level of experience, qualifications, and other relevant considerations. We anticipate the minimum full-time salary range for this position to be between $36,000 - $46,800. Please note that the compensation details listed in U.S. role postings reflect the base salary only and do not include bonuses or benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range and additional aspects of the compensation/benefits package for this position during the hiring process. If your desired salary falls outside of this range, we hope you'll still apply as there may be other positions that better align.
